Conquistadors Conquer the Suns on Senior Day

In a final emotional game of the season, the Conquistadors won their final regular season game by defeating the Johnson University Suns 96-77. During halftime, the Conquistadors recognized their seniors. Regan O’ Rourke, Terric Harris and Yves Goedschalk were all acknowledged for their hard work and dedication to the University. Their athletic accomplishments were just icing on the cake as all of the young men will leave Florida National University with a degree. In a game that featured ups and downs, the Conquistadors were able to grab a 16 point lead at halftime. Freshman, Josh Grover gave the Conquistadors fits hitting shots from long range and taking the ball to the basket at will. He finished with 26 points and 3 assist. The Conquistadors had a more balanced attack as they put 5 players in double figures, led by junior point guard Quantavis Hall’s 29 points. Center, Alvaro Simoza had a double-double scoring 13 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Junior Jamaal Walker came off the bench to score 14 points and grab 2 rebounds. Fellow Seniors Regan O’ Rourke and Yves Goedschalk tallied 11 points apiece. The Conquistadors finished the regular season at 17-10.
