Florida National University Creates Three Programs to Fulfill Student Interests

FNU is now offering a new master’s, bachelors, and associate degree.

Miami, FL (PRWEB) April 23, 2014

Florida National University (FNU) has introduced three new programs to extend its ability to serve more students, leading to a Master in Health Services Administration (HSA), a Bachelor of Science in Natural Science (NS) and an Associate of Arts (AA). Augmenting its capacity to specialize in the sciences, as well as general studies, the university believes these degrees will fulfill the evolving interests of prospective and current students. Each program is set to begin in Fall 2014.

“Florida National University, in its effort to meet the educational needs of the students and our community, is offering this Master in Health Service Administration, which is in line with the mission of our Allied Health division as well as our institution,” said Dr. Caridad Hernandez, Vice President of Academic Affairs.

Along with the recruitment of a well-respected staff within each program, these programs reflect the shift in the types of applicants that FNU receives. Since the university demonstrates its interest in focusing on healthcare and the sciences through a variety of other programs, the addition of the Master in Health Services Administration and the Bachelor of Science in Natural Science comes as no surprise. However, the university recognized that it did not offer sufficient courses for students interested in acquiring a generalized skill set, leading to the conception of an Associate of Arts degree.

“An Associate of Arts program is structured to provide a knowledge base in languages and literature, the social sciences, humanities, mathematics, and the natural sciences which lay a diversified foundation for students seeking to continue to earn a bachelor’s degree. The program is designed to accommodate students who wish to complete their liberal arts education with an Associate degree. The program will provide interested students a broad base in general education and a concentration in a specific area. In FNU’s case, the Associate of Arts program will have concentrations in Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities. The student’s choice in concentration will depend heavily on what he/she wishes to focus on when continuing on to earn the baccalaureate degree,” said Dr. Barbara Rodriguez, Humaninties and Fine Arts Division Head and Accreditation Liaison

More specifically, the Master in Health Services Administration will prepare those who are interested in expanding their career opportunities in the healthcare sector. The Bachelor of Science in Natural Science will fulfill the need of students considering Pre-Medicine, Pre-Pharmacy or Pre-Dentistry. Lastly, the university believes the Associate of Arts degree will give first-time students a solid foundation in languages and literature, the social sciences, humanities, mathematics and the natural sciences, which will prepare them for an area of study at the bachelor’s level.
