Florida National University Extends Its Outreach to High School Students at Local Multicultural Festival

Florida National University to offer full scholarships to students in Dade County

Miami, Florida (PRWEB) January 22, 2014

As part of its mission to generate opportunities to multicultural students, Florida National University (FNU) is participating in the Chamber Community Miami Festival 2014, presented by the Minority Chamber of Commerce, to disseminate information concerning the attainment of higher education to Miami’s youth.

The festival will be held at the Green Corner Auto Rental Parking Lot, located at NW 11th Street and LeJeune Road in Miami, Florida, from 9am-5pm. This event is free and open to the public.

Since FNU is gearing up to award full scholarships that cover tuition fees to each high school in Dade County, university officials will offer substantial guidance on applying to the university to attendees.

“Florida National University is attending this event because FNU is committed to supporting cultural diversity in the South Florida community. The University wants to ensure all students in Miami-Dade County have access to post-secondary education,” says José Alonso, FNU Social Media/Marketing Specialist.

Recognized as a family-oriented event that encompasses leisure, opportunity and preparation, FNU is dedicated to helping students make a positive difference in their lives by acting as an educational resource to high school students in the greater Miami area. Moving forward, FNU plans to hold this information session at future Chamber Community Miami Festivals.

For fifteen years, the Minority Chamber of Commerce has held this event to support local minority business owners and nonprofit organizations. Attendees have the ability to learn about, as well as purchases products and services of participating organizations that exemplify the culture of minority groups in Miami. To amplify the experience, the festival also includes presentations of the performing and visual arts, educational workshops and authentic cuisine.
