LADY CONQUISTADORS LOSSES TIGHT BATTLE AGAINST STU WOMEN’S SOCCER TEAM

FNU ws PicMiami Gardens, FL. – The Lady Conquistadors women’s soccer team suffered a 3-2 defeat yesterday afternoon, falling to the STU Bobcats in the last minute of second overtime.

In a tightly fought game, the Lady Conquistadors open the scoreboard at minute 30 with an unassisted goal by Tatiana Hernandez. STU player Maria Vega scored off the corner kick 11 minutes later to tie the game. The first half finished with a tie 1-1.

In the second half, Isabella Martins scored from a 35 yards’ free-kick at minute 58 to put the Lady Conquistadors up in the scoreboard for the second time during the game. The Bobcats didn’t give up and kept fighting against the Lady Conquistadors in a back and forward battle; they scored their second goal to tie the game 2-2 with a 25 yards away free kick by Karla Translavania. The game went to overtime with a 2-2 score and in the second overtime with only 6 minutes to finish the game Eva Castano Candela managed to score against our goalkeeper, and with this, the Bobcats won at home.

Lady Conquistadors will face tomorrow in Lakeland, FL Webber International University and try to bring home the second W of the season.
