Softball Falls in Series Finale at Southeastern

LAKELAND, Fla. (February 6, 2021) – The Florida National softball team (0-3) fell in the series finale of a three-game weekend set at Southeastern, 7-2, on Saturday.

The Conquistadors were led Gabryella Hay, who batted 3-for-4 on the day. Also pacing FNU at the plate were Brandi Kirkpatrick (2-for-4 1RBI), and Megan Johnson (1-for-1 1RBI, 3BB).

The Conquistadors jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. An RBI-double by Johnson followed by an RBI-single by Kirkpatrick in the opening frame gave FNU an early 2-0 lead.

SEU responded with seven unanswered runs to take the game, 7-2.

Hay (0-2) suffered the loss, allowing seven runs (five earned) on 10 hits in six innings pitched.

FNU will return to action on Tuesday, February 9, with a road contest at No. 25 Webber International. The doubleheader is
