Women’s Basketball Drops 71-49 Decision to St Thomas

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (December 19, 2020) – The Florida National women’s basketball team (1-4) dropped a 71-49 decision to the St. Thomas Bobcats (7-1) in the first game of the West Palm Invitational on campus of Keiser University.

FNU was led by senior Adria Stewart, who scored 10 points 3-of-13 shooting (2-of-7 from 3-point range) and grabbed seven rebounds. Senior Breyuna Walker paced all Conquistadors in rebounding, recording a team-best 10 boards versus the Bobcats. The native of Tampa also registered three steals and two blocked shots.

The Conquistadors finished the game shooting 26.7 percent from the floor (16-of-60) and were 5-of-24 from 3-point land (20.8 percent). STU ended the afternoon shooting 23-of-74 from the floor (31.1 percent) and converted just 3-of-22 from downtown (13.6 percent).

The Conquistadors will return to the court for their final game of the West Palm Invitational, facing host-institution Keiser on Sunday, December 20. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
