Men’s Soccer Draws at Thomas, 2-2

THOMSAVILLE, Ga. (April 3, 2021) – The Florida National men’s soccer team (5-2-1) battled the Thomas Night Hawks (3-4-2) to a 2-2 (2OT) on Saturday afternoon.

TU jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a converted penalty kick in the fourth minute. FNU tied the game in the fifth minute following a goal by Blas Barrancos. Martin Marijuan and Bautista Dominguez were both credited with assists on the play.

In the second half, the Night Hawks regained the lead in the 73rd minute on the team’s second PK goal of the game. Five minutes later, Constantino Higa tied the game with a score in the 78th minute.

After 90 minutes of regulation, the game was still tied. In overtime, neither team was able to find the back of the net, resulting in the 2-2 draw.

The Conquistadors will next take on the Keiser Seahawks on Friday, April 9, in West Palm Beach, Florida.
