HIALEAH, Fla. (March 25, 2024) – Florida National University’s women’s tennis team (2-8) dropped another close match to a Sun Conference opponent, falling 4-2 to the RV College of Coastal Georgia Mariners on March 25. The RV FNU Conquistadors missed the mark in doubles play before dropping critical matches in singles play for their eighth loss of the season. 

In doubles, FNU’s Nadia Abad and Vanessa Simone posted a 6-3 victory while FNU’s other pairs were unable to secure some much-needed wins. Karyna Krykunenko and Chiara Fiorenza dropped their match 6-2 while Fabiola Bsereni lost her match with partner Natalia Calvo 6-4. 

Singles play was a competitive battle with Coastal Georgia getting the advantage off three singles wins. Celeste Deniz Reyes did pick up a solid win over Azul Malatini with 6-3 victories in back-to-back sets.
