HIALEAH, FL. (March 8, 2024) – Florida National University’s women’s basketball team (15-11) is headed to the Hoosier State for the Conquistadors’ first appearance in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Women’s Basketball National Tournament. FNU will face the No. 1 overall seed in the Indiana portion of the Naismith Bracket, Marian University out of Indianapolis, Ind. 

The NAIA officially announced the 64-team bracket on March 7 with the first and second rounds of play set to begin March 15-16. 

FNU earned an automatic bid to the dance following a stellar run in the 2024 Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Women’s Basketball Championship tournament. FNU went 2-1 over its three-day stay in Lawrence, Kan., falling short of the title in the championship game versus the RV College of the Ozarks Bobcats 67-51.

Marian comes into the tournament as the favorite, holding the coveted No. 1 overall seed. The Knights are Crossroads League Regular Season and Tournament champions with a 30-1 record. With a staggering 28 consecutive wins, the Knights are led by senior and Crossroads League Player of the Year Ella Collier. The 2022-23 NAIA National Player of the Year is averaging 19.1 points per game.
