MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (Feb. 21, 2023)For the third time this season, the Florida National University Conquistadors suffer a tough loss on the road, this time versus the St. Thomas University Bobcats. STU remains undefeated this season and is currently ranked No. 13 in the NAIA’s Coaches’ Poll. The 6-1 loss marks the second straight victory for the Bobcats against FNU as FNU secured just its second singles point this season.

In doubles play, FNU once again struggled to get the opening point as Karyna Krykunenko and Pirada Suwanruk and duo Vanessa Simone and Nadia Abad lost their respective matches 4-6. Salome Sierra and Sofia Victoria Pera did manage to break away with a 7-5 win over their opponents despite a rough start to the competition for FNU.

In singles play, Suwanruk executed an impressive win over her opponent after a dominant opening set winning 6-2 and closing out the match in the second 7-6. The Conquistadors did not string together enough wins in singles play for the comeback and ultimately fell 6-1.
