HIALEAH, Fla. (March 27, 2024) – Florida National University’s eSports team finished a productive stay at the Fortnite Zero Builds Open Qualifier One on March 24. The Conquistadors placed 65th out of 118 schools in the competition.

Florida National’s Jorge Monsalve Benitez and Erick Murgas showed early signs of confidence, opening the match with a kill apiece in the first round. They picked up two points as a result and looked to use this momentum for a strong push in round two.

Unfortunately, FNU’s team was unable to enter the following round of the qualifier due to a technical error. Though not much could be done about this unfortunate situation, the last two games didn’t see Benitez or Murgas pick up any points.

The Conquistador pair was eventually eliminated by a rival team waiting in a house.
