HIALEAH, Fla. (Nov. 15, 2023) – Florida National University’s blossoming eSports program claimed its first postseason win over Manchester University Junior Varsity squad on Nov. 14. The Conquistadors’ 2-0 League of Legends victory was a true display of dominance from start to finish and was set up by a brilliant 2-0 victory on Halloween.

FNU out-rotated their opponents throughout both rounds and captured all of the Drakes. Round one versus Manchester JV ended in favor of FNU 33-11. Notably, Luis Quinones did a solid job in the mid position and Austin Phanitdasack kept Manchester’s problematic top laner at bay. Clearing several of their towers late in the game, Phanitdasack and Luis Quinones made it easier for Luis Quinones and Paul Perez to target the enemy jungler.

Round two saw FNU survive an incredibly close battle, as the Conquistadors sneaked out the win by just three kills. Caio Alves and Quinones were brilliant as Miss Fortune and Neeko. The pair obliterated their opponents and provided support to Gabriel Colvara Neves and the rest of their team.

Up Next: FNU eSports has its final match of the season on Nov. 18 versus Truman State.
