Florida National Downed by Florida Atlantic

BOCA RATON, Fla. (December 3, 2020) – The Florida National Conquistadors (2-8) fell to NCAA Division I Florida Atlantic (2-2), 128-64, on Thursday evening.

The Conquistadors were led by Jeffrey Hernandez, who scored 25 points on 10-of-26 shooting from the floor, including four treys. The junior forward also led the team in rebounding, grabbing 11 boards for the game’s only double-double. Senior Kenneth Santos added 19 points on 5-of-26 shooting from the field and 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Jose Benitez rounded out the leading scorers with 14 points on 6-of-13 shooting.

FNU finished the night, shooting 30.7 percent from the floor (23-of-75) and 24.3 percent from 3-point range (9-of-37). FAU shot 58.3 percent from the field (49-of-84) and was 24-of-46 from downtown (52.2 percent).

The Conquistadors will return to action on Saturday, December 5, taking on the FGCU Eagles in Ft. Myers, Florida.
