BOCA RATON, Fla. (April 13, 2024) – Florida National University’s men’s tennis team (1-13) lost its final match of the 2024 season 4-0 to the No. 3 Keiser University Seahawks (15-1). The Conquistadors fell behind early and were unable to get anything going on the singles courts at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton, Fla. This is the final Sun Conference match for either team, as Keiser was recently crowned the regular season conference champions. 

In doubles play, FNU’s Ignacio Acosta and Matteo Ruscassier missed the mark in their match versus Soufiane El Mesbahi and Didrik Liljekvist by a score of 6-2. Partners Sebastian Fujita and David Santamaria lost their respective matches to Shaheed Alam and Simone Boscatto 6-1. Guido Gentile and Alejandro Suarez’s match against Yassir Kilani and Petr Cervinka left their match unfinished with the Keiser duo up 5-3.

Singles play was another challenge for FNU, as the Conquistadors lost three matches en route to the shutout loss. Gentile fell 6-0 in both sets to El Mesbahi and Ruscassier could not pull off the win versus Krajcik. Acosta didn’t have much luck in his contest versus Liljekvist 6-1 in straight sets.
