HIALEAH, Fla. (Feb. 19, 2024) – Florida National University’s eSports program finished a very competitive Fortnite Builds Open Qualifier. This is the second qualifier FNU, competed in, as the Conquistadors posted a 23rd-place finish out of 63 teams the previous week.
Overall, FNU landed 61st out of 124 schools thanks to brilliant performances from Jorge Monsalve Benitez and Erick Pinedo Murgas. The Conquistadors entered their battle with great confidence, as Monsalve Benitez and Pinedo Murgas placed in the top 20 in all four matches.
Between having a great landing spot and early rotations, their outstanding performance earned them a handful of placement points and two eliminations a piece. The duo’s stellar play also propelled them to 23rd place in a field of 72.
