HIALEAH, Fla. (April 5, 2024) – Florida National University’s women’s tennis team (3-10) came up short on senior day versus No. 9 Savannah College of Art and Design Bees (8-4) at Goodlet Park. The Bees came out swinging in doubles play with a 1-0 lead going into singles. Losses from Karyna Krykunenko, Natalia Calvo and Nadia Abad sent SCAD home with a rousing shutout win.

In doubles play, FNU pair Calvo and Fabiola Bsereni fell 1-6 to SCAD’s Alessia Piccoliori and Francina Puig Llompart. The Bees claimed the opening point after Sofia Ragona and Priya Sukkanha conquered FNU’s Abad and Vanessa Simone by the same score.

Singles play saw Piccoliori claim a 6-2, 6-6 win over graduate student Krykunenko. Calvo and Abad fell in their respective matches 6-1, 6-0, as the Bees claimed their eighth win of the season.
