MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – The Conquistadors Women’s Volleyball team (0-2) dropped the season-opening match against the 25th ranked University of Jamestown Jimmies (3-0) in straight sets in its debut STU Invitational tournament, set scores were 25-17, 25-12, 25-20.
In the second Game of the day the conquistadors played against Missouri Baptist University and the game ended with a loss over the Conquistadors, set scores were 25-17, 25-20, 25-20.
Overall, STU was led by Ines Bawedin with 11 kills and Maricielo Zuluaga who recorded 8 kills on the day while Taysha Gonzalez had 33 digs.

The Conquistadors will be back in action this morning as the STU Invitational into day two with doubleheader action starting at 9:00 a.m. against Missouri Valley and then at 3:00 p.m. against Rochester College.
