Four Conquistadors garner All-CAC honors

HIALEAH, FL. (March 11, 2024) – Florida National University’s women’s basketball team had four members chosen as members of the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) women’s basketball all-conference honorees for the 2023-24 season. Jullie Ruiz Paneto and Janelisse Marty Marrero got All-CAC first-team nods, while Kaylee Llanos was a second team selection. Ruiz Paneto also took home Newcomer of the Year while Adalis Arroyo got an honorable mention. 

Ruiz Paneto averaged 22.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.1 steals per outing for the Conquistadors,” the CAC’s release said. “She recorded 71 steals and shot 50% from the floor while starting 13 games.”

Marty Marrero posted 16.2 points per game for the Conquistadors this season and Llanos was a consistent scorer for FNU off the bench, with the same number of points in 14 appearances. Arroyo proved to be FNU’s motor, starting all 26 of FNU’s contests so far this season and shooting 32.5 from long range. 

FNU’s Champion of Character was Jaycee Omeir.
