Your Florida National University Men’s Soccer team participated in the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Championship held in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The championship site was held by Georgia Gwinnett College on Nov 12-13, 2021.

The No. 3 seed Florida National University Conquistadors won a highly competitive 2-0 shutout semifinal match to open the 2021 Continental Athletic Conference men’s soccer tournament Friday evening against tournament host Georgia Gwinnett College inside the Grizzly Soccer Complex.

Constantino Higa redirected a shot from Marcos Bakale in the 69th minute to give FNU a 1-0 lead. The Conquistadors also benefitted from an own goal when a long pass ricocheted off a FNU player and went into the back of the GGC net.’

Florida National University fell to Bellevue University with a 1st half goal scored in the 34th minute of the game. That lone goal would seal the victory for the Bruins of Bellevue University.

‘Florida National outshot Bellevue by a 7-1 margin, but Bruin goalkeeper AJ Jarvis stopped four of those shots on goal. He added another save in the second half in recording his second shutout of the tournament.’

Florida National University despite this loss will advance to the NAIA National opening rounds with an attempt to secure their spot in the NAIA National Tournament held in Decatur, Alabama. The opening round will be held in West Palm Beach, Fla. Your Conquistadors will face host school the Seahawks of Keiser University on Thursday, Nov 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
