FNU Respiratory Therapy Students with speakerOn Wednesday, July 30, 2014, Mrs. Mikki Thompson, Director of Pulmonary Services at South Miami Hospital and Florida Society for Respiratory Care (FSRC) Delegate to the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) Congress visited the Florida National University (FNU) Hialeah Campus to address the University’s respiratory therapy students about the importance of becoming members of both professional associations which represent respiratory care professionals in the US Congress.

During her presentation, Mrs. Thompson covered various topics such as how to prepare and properly present oneself for a job interview. She congratulated FNU’s Respiratory Therapy program for having close to 100% of current students with membership to the FSRC.

Mikki also expressed her admiration for recent FNU graduates from our program whom she has hired, for their professionalism and desire to learn and provide excellent patient care.

Lastly, Mrs. Thompson also congratulated the University for graduating our students with the BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, which, in her own words make them more marketable in our competitive field.

After the seminar, Mrs. Thompson held a question and answer session, followed by a short reception hosted by FNU.

Florida National University offers an Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy and a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy.
