HIALEAH, Fla. (March 18, 2024) – Florida National University’s Ana (Gabi) De Oliveira Obando picked up her second Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Softball Hitter of the Week award this season. The senior out of Sao Paulo, Brazil, racked up four RBIs and seven hits in Florida National’s final week at the 2024 Space Coast Games. 

FNU went 1-3 over its last four contests, with a rousing 6-0 win over NCAA DII Fitchburg State. Obando posted a .538 average and a .769 slug percentage en route to another conference accolade.

Obando, the Hitter of the Week, batted .538 and drove in four runs as the Conquistadors completed the final week of the 2024 Space Coast Games,” the CAC’s release said. “She posted a .769 slugging percentage in the four games, featuring a victory against NCAA Division II Fitchburg State University (Massachusetts).”

Obando then recorded two hits in both games of a doubleheader against Aquinas College (Michigan) last Saturday.”

The Conquistadors and Obando return to action at home in Weston, Fla., for a noon doubleheader against St. Ambrose University.
