HIALEAH, Fla. (Dec. 4, 2023) – Florida National University’s sophomore sensation Matthew Robinson is the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Men’s Basketball Player of the Week following the Conquistadors’ stunning 88-78 victory over No. 17 Ave Maria University on Nov. 29.
Robinson was a huge part of the Conquistadors’ victory, both on offense and defense. The lengthy guard posted 34 points and five rebounds, three steals and two blocks. The Miami native is shooting 42.7% from the floor and averaging just over 17 points per game so far this season.
“Contributing mightily to Florida National University’s upset of a nationally ranked opponent has earned sophomore Matthew Robinson recognition as the Continental Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week,” the CAC’s press release said.
“The guard scored 34 points and contributed five rebounds, three steals and three blocked shots in the Conquistadors’ 88-78 win against Ave Maria University (Florida) last Wednesday.”
FNU and Robinson travel to Barry University for an exhibition versus the Bucs tonight at 7:30 p.m.
