WINTER PARK, Fla. ( Feb. 6, 2024) – Florida National University’s women’s tennis team continues its search for a victory in 2024 following a tough loss to Rollins College 7-0. RC was stellar in both singles and doubles play, not dropping a match in either phase of the competition at home. This is the second time Rollins has conquered a match versus FNU, with its last victory coming in February 2020.

In doubles play, FNU duos Celeste Deniz Reyes and Natalia Calvo and Vanessa Simone and Nadia Abad dropped their matches 6-3. Chiara Fiorenza and Karyna Krykunenko fell 6-2 versus RC’s Polina Ligay and Erin Yaroshuk.

Krykunenko’s first singles match of 2024 saw her fall 6-0, 6-1 while Calvo fell 6-2, 0-6 to Ligay. Fiorenza posted a very competitive match versus Yaroshuk, winning the first set 6-3 before dropping the next two 6-7, 8-10.

Natalia Calvo falls to Polina Ligay (2-6, 0-6)

Vanessa Simone falls to Milla Falster (2-6, 3-6)

Celeste Deniz Reyes falls to Stella Fruijtier (4-6, 3-6)

Nadia Abad falls to Nina Mitrofanova (1-6, 1-6)

Chiara Fiorenza falls to Erin Yaroshuk (6-3, 6-7, 8-10)
