Ruiz Paneto’s otherworldly debut week earns her CAC Weekly Honor

HIALEAH, Fla. (Jan. 15, 2024) – Florida National University’s women’s basketball standout Jullie Ruiz Paneto earned her first Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Player of the Week award following the Conquistadors’ 2-1 record last week. 

Ruiz Paneto displayed excellent toughness and a high basketball IQ en route to averaging 26.7 points through three appearances for the Conquistadors. She has a great feel for the game and can get others involved, averaging five assists per contest. Her amazing weekend also helped FNU defeat the No. 23-ranked College of the Ozarks Bobcats on the Conquistadors’ final day of the Florida College Classic. 

“The Yauco, Puerto Rico, native also averaged 5.7 rebounds and five assists for the week,” the CAC’s release said. “She tallied 17 points and dished five assists in FNU’s 73-56 victory against No. 23-ranked College of the Ozarks (Missouri) on January 13.”

Ruiz Paneto and the Conquistadors are back in action Jan. 16 versus New College of Florida on the road at 3 p.m.
