HIALEAH, Fla. (Feb. 26, 2024) – Florida National University’s Brylea Rusler is the second freshman pitcher to be named the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Softball Pitcher of the Week. After FNU defeated the No. 22 Southeastern University Fire, Sophia White garnered this honor last week. 

Rusler pitched two near-perfect games, allowing three hits through 12 innings. The Port St. Lucie, Florida, native was poised in the circle for FNU and helped the Conquistadors finish the week with a 3-5 record. 

Rusler, the Pitcher of the Week, went 2-0 for the Conquistadors for the week,” the CAC’s release. “The Port St. Lucie, Florida, native allowed just three hits through 12 innings for a pair of shutout victories.”

“The right-hander registered two of the team’s three wins for the week.”
