Softball Wins a Pair in Kissimmee

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (March 10, 2021) – The Florida National softball team (9-10) won a pair of games in Kissimmee this afternoon, defeating Dordt College, 1-0, and downing William Penn, 5-4 (9 innings).

In the first game of the day, the Conquistadors scored one run two hits on the Defenders to win the team’s eighth game of the season.

Megen Johnson and Madison Bradshaw were each responsible for the team’s two hits while Gabryella Hay allowed no runs on three hits with seven strikeouts to earn the victory.

Game Two took extra inning as the Conquistadors defeated William Penn, 5-4 (9 innings).

RBI’s by Hay, Johnson, Natasha Trujillo, and Julia Frank guided FNU to the extra-inning victory.

Trujillo allowed just one earned run in eight innings of action, striking out three for a “no decision”. Brandi Fitzpatrick came in for relief of Trujillo in the ninth to pick up her fourth win of the season.

FNU will travel to Lake Wales, Florida, to take on the Warner Royals in a doubleheader on Thursday, March 11. First pitch of Game One is set for 1:30 p.m.
