HIALEAH, Fla. (Nov. 24, 2023) – Florida National University had two exceptional women’s soccer players earn coveted spots in the short list of 2023 Daktronics NAIA Women’s Soccer Scholar-Athletes. Conquistadors Delmis Reyes Amaya and Valentina Salvatierra Calero excelled in the classroom with at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) to be eligible for this honor.

“The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Women’s Soccer Scholar-Athletes on Friday. Marian (Ind.) led the way with 23 honorees,” the NAIA’s release said. “Grand View (Iowa) finished a close second with 22.”

“In order to be nominated by an institution’s head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.”
