MIAMI, Fla. (March 8, 2021) – The Florida National volleyball team (8-6) picked up two victories to start its spring season, sweeping the Edward Waters Tigers in a doubleheader of Monday afternoon.

The Conquistadors opened the day with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-16), hitting .267 as a team with 48 kills on 120 total attempts and just 16 attack errors.

Joanne Dania led FNU with 18 kills (.353 attack percentage) and 12 digs for her second double-double of the season. Also reaching double-digit in kills was Carolina Arrais Dantas, who posted 11 kills and hit .391 in the match.

Defensively, the Conquistadors held the Tigers to a .109 hitting percentage forcing 14 EWC errors while notching eight points on service aces.

FNU followed its Game One performance with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-20, 25-19) victory in Game Two. The Conquistadors dominated offensively, hitting .381 as a team with 46 total kills and nine errors on 97 total attacks.

Lina Valentino hit a blistering .667 in the match with 13 kills on 18 total attempts. Dania added 15 kills and hit .375 in the second match.

The Tigers again struggled on the offensive end, hitting .103 with 21 kills on 87 total attempts with 12 attack errors.

FNU will travel to Babson Park to take part in a Tri-Meet with Webber International and Columbia International on Wednesday, March 10.
