Women’s Basketball Falls to Trinity Baptist in Overtime

MIAMI, Fla. (November 14, 2020) – The Florida National women’s basketball team (1-3) dropped a hard-fought battle the with Trinity Baptist Eagles (2-1), 72-67 (OT), on Saturday from Miami Christian School.

Freshman Adalis Arroyo led all Conquistadors with 16 points in her FNU debut. Arroyo shot 6-of-12 for the floor and was 4-of-6 from the free-throw line. Leading the team in rebounding were sophomore Shikinah Williams and senior Breyuna Walker, who collected six boards apiece.

The Conquistadors finished the game, shooting 31.3 percent from the floor (26-of-83) and were 4-of-26 from 3-point range (14.8 percent). TBC made 34.7 percent of its shots from the field (26-of-75) and converted 3-of-25 attempts from beyond the arc.

The Eagles held a slight edge in rebounding, 58-56, with both teams registering 17 rebounds on the offensive glass.

FNU’s next game is set for Thursday, November 24 at Keiser. Game time from West Palm Beach, Florida, is set for 5:30 p.m.
