Adams’ Conquistador debut lands her a CAC Runner of the Week award

HIALEAH, Fla. (Sept. 5, 2023) – Florida National University’s women’s cross country runner Christina Adams raced her way into the history books, earning the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Runner of the Week award. 

Conquistador Cross Country opened the 2023 season at the Florida Atlantic University Invitational in Boca Raton, Fla., on Sept. 1. The men’s team finished 12th out of 16 teams, while the women’s team ended the night in 14th place out of 18 teams on the course. 

In a field loaded with NCAA DI and DII talent such as the University of Miami and Lynn University, Adams proved to be a true competitor. 

The CAC’s release said, “Christina Adams ran the eighth-fastest performance in school history at the Florida Atlantic University Invitational. The Wildwood Crest, New Jersey, native posted a time of 20:27.8 in the 5-kilometer race to place 51st in the competitive field that featured several NCAA Division I runners.”
