This is the second consecutive year FNU has won this honor.

HIALEAH, Fla. (Aug. 15, 2023) – Florida National University is named a Champion of Character Five-Star Institution Gold Level for the second straight year. The Conquistadors were one of only 27 schools to earn a perfect 100 score for the 2022-23 season from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

The NAIA had 171 member institutions earn either a gold, silver, or bronze designation based on a series of criteria.

Institutions are measured on a demonstrated commitment to Champions of Character and earn points in character training, conduct in competition, academic focus, character recognition and character promotion. Institutions earned points based on exceptional student-athlete grade point averages and by having minimal to no ejections during competition throughout the course of the academic year.

Florida National was the lone school from the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) to earn this prestigious award.
