HIALEAH, Fla. (Jan. 24, 2024) – Florida National University’s softball program released a 50-game schedule for the 2023-24 season. The Conquistadors’ slate includes eight home doubleheaders and 16 games at the Space Coast Games in Viera Beach, Fla.

The Conquistadors open the 2024 season Feb. 2 on the road against Palm Beach Atlantic University with a 4 p.m. doubleheader in West Palm Beach, Fla. Notably, the Conquistadors will look to take down the No. 22 Southeastern Fire on Feb. 16. as they remain on the road until its home opener at Bucky Dent Park Feb. 19 against the University of Fort Lauderdale. 

The remainder of FNU’s home contests versus Webber International University, St. Ambrose University, Florida Memorial University, Keiser University, New College of Florida, St. Thomas University and UFTL are set to be played at Vista Park in Weston, Fla. Florida National’s time in Viera Beach, Fla., feature highly competitive matchups including Goshen College, University of Michigan-Dearborn and Bethel University.

Key returners for the Conquistadors are leadoff hitter and Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) First-Team honoree Yleisha Perez and Second-Team All-CAC pitcher Jona Goolsby. Last season’s homerun leader, Bailey Fernandez, will stay with the Conquistadors this season as a graduate assistant while outfielders Janessa Esquibel and Ana De Oliveira Obando look to build off an impressive 2023 campaign.
