Vanessa Simone’s singles victory highlights a 1-4 FNU loss

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (April 14, 2023)Florida National University’s women’s tennis team once again fell short in conference play, losing 1-4 to Blue Mountain Christian College. This loss is the first for the Conquistadors in the Montgomery Southern States Athletic Conference Round-Up. FNU now stands at 1-11 in 2023 while the RV BMC Toppers improve to 8-6.

In doubles play, BMC was electric as Conquistador duos Karyna Krykunenko and Paulina Jankun as well as Nadia Abad and Vanessa Simone lost their matches to fall behind 1-0. 

In singles play, defeats from Vera Hoekstra, Salome Sierra and Abad brought about any hopes of an FNU victory. Notably, Simone managed to win her match versus Annabella Natalini 6-4, 6-3.
