HIALEAH, Fla. (Oct. 25, 2023) – Florida National’s men’s soccer team used two statement wins last week to come in at No. 12 in the eighth NAIA Men’s Soccer Coaches’ Ratings this season. The top five in this week’s poll remain unchanged from the previous week, with Mid-America Christian University holding strong at No. 1. Florida National’s South Florida rival, St. Thomas University remains at No. 2, garnering three first-place votes.

The Conquistadors had a stellar 2-0 record last week, including a 6-0 rout of the Johnson University Suns. FNU stayed unbeaten in Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) play after defeating Florida College 2-0 on Oct. 17. Notably, lights-out defense and two goals versus the Suns also earned defender Ricardo Delwing the CAC’s coveted Defensive Player of the Week award.

With the CAC Tournament right around the corner, FNU is the highest-ranked member in the Coaches Poll with Bellevue University receiving votes (RV). Georgia Gwinnett College fell out of the rankings following a tough loss to Washington Adventist University 1-0 during the CAC Classic.

Florida National’s regular season final is set for Nov. 2 versus the Barry University Buccaneers starting at 7 p.m.
