Conquistadors qualify for CAC tournaments

HIALEAH, Fla. (Oct. 31, 2023) – Florida National University’s men’s soccer and women’s volleyball teams have qualified for their respective Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Tournaments. 

No. 12 FNU men’s soccer heads to Lawrenceville, Ga., with three other top competitors in the CAC, including Bellevue University, Georgia Gwinnett College, and Washington Adventist University. The Conquistadors hold the coveted No. 1 seed and are slated to take on Georgia Gwinnett College on Nov. 9 at 5 p.m. in a rematch of a 1-1 stalemate at the CAC Classic. 

The No. 2 seed Bellevue and No. 3 Washington Adventist compete in the second semi-final of the evening at 8 p.m. Bellevue is the reigning back-to-back CAC champs, defeating FNU in 2021 and 2022.

FNU women’s volleyball is one of four teams headed to Temple Terrace, Fla., Nov. 9-11. The Conquistadors stand at 6-10 with two matches this week, against Webber International University on Nov. 3 and Ave Maria University on Nov. 5, to end their regular season. 

The three other teams slated to compete in pool play No. 9 include the College of the Ozarks, Florida College, and Haskell Indian Nations University.
