FNU drops road double header

Lake Wales, Fla. – WU Royals topple Conquistadors taking both games and only allowing four runs in both games.

Game One – WU 8, FNU 3

In the bottom of the 1st, M.Ioia tripled to center field and scored after B. Shell grounded out to 2b. The Conquistadors answered the run on the board in the top of the 4th with 1 hit to tie it up. WU put 2 more runs on in the bottom of the 5th and then secured their win with five more runs in the 6th bringing their total to 8 runs. The Conquistadors would score two more in the top of the 6th but would not be enough to tie up the game.

Gabryella Hay pitched 6.0 innings giving up 9 hits.

Game Two – WU 2, FNU 1

A. Owen advances off a single, and two groundouts to get home and score the first run in the bottom of the 2nd. M. Servo singles up center field steals, and scores off a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 3rd. Megen Johnson would get one back for the Conquistadors by an error and a single to right field by G. Obando. Conclusion of The game 2-1.

Kyra Sunga pitched 6.0 innings taking the loss and giving up 4 hits.

The Conquistador’s overall record moves to 21-10.

FNU goes back on the road to face the Tigers of Edward Waters University on Friday, April 1.
