FNU powers past EWU Tigers

Jacksonville, Fla. – Florida National University defeats Edward Waters University on the road.

Game One – EWU 0, FNU 4

In the top of the 1st, K.Sunga homered to score the first run for the conquistadors, and Megen scores off a double by Gabriela Obando. The Conquistadors answered again on the board at the top of the 7th by a hit by a pitch to walk G. Hay home from the conquistadors, K. Sunga scores off a wild pitch.

Gabryella Hay pitched 7.0 innings giving up 3 hits.

Game Two – EWU 4, FNU 10

The Conquistadors start off with a bang scoring a grand slam by Gabriela Obando to put the score 4-0 followed by Y. Perez stealing home to have it 5-0 in the top of the 1st. The Tigers would take one back in the 5th. The Conquistadors will score five more runs in the 5th, 6th, & 7th inning. The Tigers would finally score three more runs in the bottom of the 7th but insufficient to tie up the game.

Kyra Sunga pitched 4.0 innings taking the loss and giving up 14 hits.

The Conquistador’s overall record moves to 26-11.

FNU will travel to Miami Gardens, Fla to face the Bobcats of St. Thomas University on Friday, April 15.
