Alex Witter began working with Florida National University Athletics in September of 2020 as FNU’s head athletic trainer. In his role, Witter is in charge of overseeing the department of Sports Medicine-Athletic Training in conjunction with physicians for the best medical practice on return-to-play protocols.
Before coming to FNU, Alex Witter was an athletic trainer at Johnson & Wales University in North Miami. His professional experience includes a variety of institutions and organizations ranging from high school to college to professional sports teams. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from USF in 2016, and a Master in Kinesiology with a dual-track in Corrective Exercise & Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Sports Conditioning from ATSU in 2019.
He holds a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, Certified Applied Functional Science (CAFS) certificate from the Gray Institute among others, and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA).
