It is now 2016 and according to BLS statistics, the healthcare industry is in the beginning stages of GDP. As the Baby Boomer generation is nearing the retirement stage, more jobs are either being consolidated with existing jobs or looking to get filled. Georgetown’s Center on Education and The Workforce claims that the “demand for postsecondary education and training in healthcare, already high, will continue to edge upward.” It also reported that the demand was 81% in 2010, and is expected to bump to 82% by the year 2020. Furthermore, a bachelor’s degree is reported to be required for 24% of all healthcare jobs and for technical occupations that general require a 2-year degree, 94%.
