Meet the Author, Professor Felix Ramos

The FNU’s Book Club aims to connect people with new ideas, and meet the local Florida Authors. Every time we get together, we get inspired by range of topics and genres, from Yusset Perez’ romantic poetry to fiction fantasy of prolific Mauricio Restrepo throughout discussion and presentations by leading writers.

Today, I would like to introduce the talented writer Professor Felix Ramos and together we will discover his latest releases. Dr. Felix Ramos holds a Ph.D. in Engineering. He is teaching Physics, Mathematics, and Statistics at Florida National University both at Hialeah and South campuses. He is also an adjunct faculty of Mathematics and Statistics at Miami Dade College. As a teaching professor, he always was writing and continuously challenged himself to new innovative ways to teach and help students to understand the importance of Mathematics and other basic sciences in the modern globalized world of science and technology.

Ramos writes in two languages in English and in Spanish. He wrote the “Mathematics: Enemy or Ally?” in English language and in Spanish edition. Previously, he wrote the book entitled “Solving Exercises of Introductory Statistics (Part 1): Descriptive Statistics [Annotated] (Friendly Mathematics Book 1)

When I interviewed Dr. Ramos and asked what brought him to writing science books, he gave me very clear answers that “Math is a powerful tool that helps to explain the world around us and discover the beautiful edges of the universe. Math is a path to grow both personally and professionally by solving simple problems related to economy and social science issues. The subject of Mathematics is a necessity for every young person’s life, even if they think to study Humanities, Law, or any other Liberal Arts career.”

As a teacher and parent, Felix Ramos, wrote more than few children books. One of this lovely books is illustrated by his talented daughter Alejandra Ramos. I hope that in future, we will be able to see Alejandra at our Book Club at Florida National University. I am sure we all have questions to ask her about her talents and partnership with her dad, Professor Felix Ramos. All the books could be purchased and are available at www.amazon.com or www.bn.com
